I caught a cold in Milano.
I didn't expected that this made me realize a lot of difference between Japan and Italy.
I'm in Milan already like 7 days, and I caught a cold and had sore throat.
So I went to pharmacy as usual I do in Japan.
Pharmacy also made me wait like post office.

They gave me a spray for throat and tablet for fever.

The next day I still felt the same, so i got ginger powder and honey.

①Misericordia
②Pronto soccorso
This day, deep inside of my throat started to have pain, like I used to have in Japan.
I knew I cannot get over this without antibiotics, so I started to ask my friends about Italian medical system.
One is called Misericordia, a hospital organized by Christian group, which accepts emergency patients with payment. Later I found out that this only exists in Frolence.
The other is called Pronto soccorso, which means ER. ER in Italy is open for really everybody, including foreigners, they treat everybody for free. However, Pronto soccorso in the city center let them wait like 8hrs.

First I went to Misericordia, since I didn't know that it doesn't exist in Milan.
The one I found on Google map was just a church, the nun in the church prayed for my sickness.

Then I tried to go to Pronto soccorso, by asking to the nun in Misericordia.
I confirmed on Google map, that the Pronto soccorso really exists in the direction she pointed.
And it was veterinarian hospital.
This day I decided to stay at hostel and sleep.

Today, my friend gave me a message, that her friend knows a doctor in Milan.
And luckily, really luckily he was in Pronto soccorso this morning!
I called UBER and went to the San Raffaelo Hospital.

My friend told about me to the doctor, so that reception easily recognized me.
I was almost crying for releaf.
They gave me the waiting number.

He checked my throat, breath and X-rayed my chest to check if my lang is contaminated, and the result was just a cold, not even a bronchitis.
The doctor I usually see in Japan always called this bronchitis, but the basis seems to be quite different.

Surprisingly for me, they didn't gave me a medicine or prescription.
Usually my doctor give me plenty of tablets like antibiotics so that I can keep on working.
However this country gives people plenty of resting time to recover, so they just use it only when necessary.
Also I couldn't find tablet for running nose, caughing, swollen throat...etc, I only found some spray for throat, caugh candy...

The payment has been done by a machine, by scanning a bar code, and it accepted my credit card.

Buying after you've left your country of residence

If a policy was purchased after you left your country of residence (as defined in the policy wording), there is a waiting period of 72 hours before the insurance takes effect. Any illness or injury occurring during this waiting period will be considered a pre-existing medical condition and is not covered under the terms of this policy. If an injury resulting from an accident occurs after the policy start date, you will be covered from the time of the accident, subject to the accident being witnessed and verified by an independent third party.
